Season Recap

The 2020 season was memorable for many reasons. A strong group of experienced players such as Reese Barton, Devin Miller, Kevin Lair, Taren McCluskey, Aaron White, Dalton Smith, and Zion Sanders returned to lead the program. However, this years roster had more players who were NOT on the team in 2019 than ones who returned were. New additions in every class grew into their roles as the season went on including Chris Ebbesmeyer, Brock Miller, Tim Johnston, John Parker, and Gunnar Fountain.

Ending the 2019 season with another loss in the first round of districts left a sour taste in everyone's mouth. An unusual off-season due to the shutdown in the spring and limited summer activities. The Coyotes started the season with a home loss to Harrisburg. After a win in Salisbury against the Panthers the Coyotes came home to get a Week 3 win against Scotland County for the first time in several years and start the season 2-1.

Losses at Knox County, at home against Marceline, and at Fayette brought the team to Warbritton Field for homecoming. In a Week 7 matchup with Russellville the Coyotes put on a show winning 58-22. Another tough loss at Clopton and against an 8-1 Westran team in Week 9 ended the regular season.

The Week 10 matchup against Father Tolton provided one of the best moments of the year when the Coyotes finally won in the first round of districts for the first time since 2015. The team put up a tough battle against the eventual district champion South Callaway but the season came to an end in Week 11.

Coyotes enter Warbritton Field for their 2020 Week 10 battle against Father Tolton from Columbia.
